WordCamp Asia has always been one of the most anticipated events in the WordPress ecosystem. This year was even more special, as it marked the first-ever WordCamp Asia hosted in India, a proud milestone for the entire community.

At Phases, we were excited to be part of this global event, not just as attendees, but as active contributors.

Representing Phases on a Global Stage

One of the biggest highlights of this journey was representing Phases as a speaker at WordCamp Asia. Being among a select group of speakers, and representing India on a global platform, was both an honor and a proud moment.

The session focused on building high-quality, user-first WordPress projects, sharing practical insights from real-world experience. The engagement and conversations that followed reflected the strong interest in quality-driven development within the community.

A Unique Experience: Being an Open-Source “Book”

One of the most memorable parts of the event was participating in the Open-Source Library during Contributor Day.

This initiative, previously known as the Human Library, creates a space where experienced contributors become “books,” and attendees can “check them out” for one-on-one conversations. It’s a unique format where learning happens through real experiences rather than presentations.

I had the opportunity to be one of these “books,” where attendees could connect with me during scheduled time slots, ask questions, and discuss topics around WordPress, development practices, and career growth.

These conversations were meaningful, honest, and highly engaging, highlighting the true spirit of the WordPress community: learning from people, not just from code.

A Strong Team Presence

WordCamp Asia was not just an individual milestone, it was a team experience.

Along with the speaking session, three members from our WordPress team and our Technical Manager attended the event. Their participation helped us explore new ideas, connect with global experts, and bring back valuable insights to strengthen our work at Phases.

Learning, Networking, and Growing

The event offered an incredible mix of:

  • Insightful sessions from global WordPress leaders

  • Opportunities to network with the international community

  • Exposure to the latest tools, trends, and best practices

These experiences directly influence how we approach our projects, helping us build more scalable, performant, and user-focused solutions.

What This Means for Phases

Being part of WordCamp Asia reinforces our commitment to:

  • Delivering high-quality WordPress solutions

  • Following modern development standards and best practices

  • Actively contributing to the global WordPress ecosystem

The knowledge and connections gained from this event will continue to shape how we deliver value to our clients.

Looking Ahead

WordCamp Asia is more than just a conference, it’s a reminder of the strength of the open-source community.

At Phases, we are excited to take these learnings forward, contribute more actively, and continue building impactful digital experiences.

A big thank you to the WordPress community for making this event truly unforgettable.
